Ripple turns to AI to stress-test the XRP Ledger as institutional use cases scale

Ripple is overhauling the security of the XRP Ledger (XRPL) by integrating an AI-driven strategy across its development lifecycle to handle scaling institutional use cases. This new approach incorporates AI-assisted code scanning, automated adversarial testing guided by threat models, and a dedicated AI-assisted red team that has already found over 10 bugs. Ripple states this shift moves them from reactive debugging to proactive vulnerability discovery, strengthening the ledger faster. This hardening effort is timely as the XRPL supports an increasingly complex workload and Ripple expands its institutional footprint globally. The strategy is built on six pillars, including modernizing the codebase, enhancing collaboration, and raising standards for protocol amendments. The next XRPL release will focus entirely on bug fixes and improvements, signaling a near-term priority on security.
