Coinbase Buys Startup Fundraising Firm Echo for $375M

Coinbase has acquired Echo, a startup specializing in onchain capital formation founded by the figure known as Cobie, for about $375 million. Echo's platform enables startups to raise funds directly from their communities via private deals or public token sales using its product, Sonar. Coinbase stated the acquisition will help it develop a "full-stack" fundraising solution, offering easier capital access for startups and early-stage opportunities for investors. While Echo will initially remain a standalone brand, Coinbase plans to integrate Sonar's public sale product and eventually expand Echo's infrastructure to support tokenized securities and real-world assets. This move follows Coinbase's previous acquisition of token management platform LiquiFi.
