The crypto-focused political action committee Fairshake, supported by major players like Coinbase and Andreessen Horowitz (a16z), announced it has secured over $193 million in funds for the upcoming 2026 midterms. This war chest includes recent substantial contributions, such as $25 million from Ripple and $24 million from a16z, alongside a $25 million donation from Coinbase in 2025. Fairshake stated its mission is to oppose anti-crypto politicians and support leaders favorable to the industry, aiming to protect consumers and foster American innovation. The PAC was active in the previous election cycle, notably spending millions to support Bernie Moreno's successful Senate bid in Ohio against a crypto-critic Democrat. This fundraising effort comes as legislative efforts in the Senate have recently stalled over issues like tokenized equities and stablecoin yield, with further discussions scheduled.
