Coinbase's annual transparency report for the period spanning October 2024 to September 2025 revealed a 19% increase in global law enforcement requests, totaling 12,716. Notably, more than half (53%) of these requests came from outside the United States, although the US still accounted for 80% of the top five originating countries (US, Germany, UK, France, Spain, and Australia). The exchange confirmed that the vast majority of these requests, which included subpoenas and court orders, were related to criminal enforcement matters. While acknowledging user privacy concerns, Coinbase stated it is obligated to respond to valid legal processes.
