Prominent Ethereum developer Dankrad Feist departs EF to join stablecoin-focused Layer 1 Tempo

Prominent Ethereum developer Dankrad Feist has left the Ethereum Foundation (EF) to join Tempo, an alternative, payments-focused Layer 1 blockchain being developed by Stripe and Paradigm. Feist, known for co-creating the Danksharding design for Layer 2 scalability and serving as a strategic advisor during the EF leadership shakeup, cited a special opportunity to achieve ambitious payment goals with Tempo's relentless execution. His departure was noted as a significant loss for the Ethereum ecosystem by figures like David Hoffman. Feist stated that Tempo, which is EVM-compatible and optimized for high-scale financial services, is a "great complement" to Ethereum and shares the same permissionless ideals, suggesting potential future integration benefits. Ethereum creator Vitalik Buterin wished Feist luck, acknowledging his valuable contributions like Danksharding.
