Kelp DAO has decided to abandon LayerZero as its cross-chain infrastructure provider in favor of Chainlink following a devastating $292 million exploit last month. The attack, attributed to the North Korean Lazarus Group, targeted a single-verifier configuration that was previously recommended by LayerZero. Kelp DAO stated that the migration to Chainlink’s Cross-Chain Interoperability Protocol (CCIP) addresses the fundamental architectural vulnerabilities exploited in the bridge attack. While LayerZero has since discontinued single-verifier support and contributed 10,000 ETH to recovery efforts, Kelp DAO is moving toward Chainlink’s decentralized oracle networks, which mandate multiple independent node operators for transaction validation.
