South Korea's Hana Financial Group, POSCO International, and Dunamu (operator of Upbit) have launched a blockchain-based remittance system. POSCO International will serve as the first real-world test case for the system, which aims to reduce settlement times and costs compared to traditional SWIFT transfers. The new MoU allows the system to be tested on actual trade transactions, with POSCO International handling business applications, Hana Financial managing remittance processing and settlement, and Dunamu providing the GIWA Chain blockchain infrastructure. This initiative is part of POSCO International's broader digital finance strategy and follows a successful proof-of-concept by Hana and Dunamu.
