Hyperbridge has updated its loss estimate from $237,000 to $2.5 million following an April 13 Token Gateway exploit. The revision accounts for losses across Ethereum, Base, BNB Chain, and Arbitrum that were initially overlooked. The attacker bypassed proof verification to mint 1 billion bridged DOT tokens, though native Polkadot assets remained unaffected. Hyperbridge is currently working with Binance and law enforcement to recover funds and has pledged to use its native BRIDGE token to compensate users if recovery efforts are insufficient.
