US Treasury’s Secret Weapon Against Crypto Hackers Is Now Available For Free

The US Treasury's Office of Cybersecurity and Critical Infrastructure Protection (OCCIP) has launched a program to provide real-time cyber threat intelligence to eligible digital asset firms at no cost. This initiative aims to equip crypto companies with the same security briefings previously exclusive to traditional financial institutions. The move comes in response to a significant increase in crypto hacks, with platforms losing approximately $3.4 billion in 2025, a substantial portion attributed to North Korean state-backed actors. Treasury officials highlighted the growing sophistication and frequency of cyber threats as the driving force behind this program. The initiative also aligns with recommendations from the President’s Working Group on Digital Asset Markets and the Guiding and Establishing National Innovation for US Stablecoins (GENIUS) Act, signaling a broader effort to integrate crypto firms into federal financial security frameworks.
