Solana Foundation launches STRIDE program to fortify ecosystem security
Summary
The Solana Foundation has launched a series of initiatives to bolster the security of its ecosystem. A key program is STRIDE (Solana Trust, Resilience and Infrastructure for DeFi Enterprises), a structured framework for monitoring and evaluating the security of Solana projects, conducted by the security firm Asymmetric Research. Evaluation results will be made public. Protocols exceeding $10 million in TVL that pass STRIDE will receive ongoing security support and threat monitoring, funded by the foundation, while those over $100 million TVL will get additional formal verification tools for smart contracts.
In addition to STRIDE, the foundation introduced the Solana Incident Response Network (SIRN), a membership-based network of security firms and researchers like Asymmetric, OtterSec, and Neodyme, dedicated to the Solana ecosystem. SIRN is accessible to all Solana-based protocols, with priority given based on TVL.
Despite these new resources, the Solana Foundation emphasized that individual projects remain responsible for maintaining rigorous security measures, stating that these initiatives are meant to enhance security, not replace the fundamental security responsibilities of development teams.
