Cosmos-first Leap Wallet to cease operations on May 28, users urged to migrate

Leap Wallet, one of the first wallets focused on the Cosmos ecosystem, announced it will cease all operations on May 28, 2026, after more than four years of service. This shutdown will affect all its products, including the browser extension, mobile apps, Compass Wallet, SwapFast, the Leap Cosmos Hub Validator, and Snaps. The team stated the decision was made after careful consideration, while expressing continued belief in the future of crypto and the interchain ecosystem. Users are strongly advised to migrate their assets to compatible wallets like Keplr, MetaMask, Phantom, or Rabby by exporting their recovery phrase or private keys. Leap Wallet does not hold user funds, so assets remain accessible elsewhere, and staked ATOM should be redelegated. Holders of the MANTRA token can use a bridge tool provided by MANTRA Chain to transfer assets to EVM environments. The announcement has been met with praise from the Cosmos community, including Keplr co-founder Josh Lee and Keystone Wallet, recognizing Leap Wallet’s contributions to the ecosystem. Founded in 2021, Leap Wallet secured $3.2 million in funding and grew to support over 100 blockchain networks, becoming a key player in the Cosmos space.
