The surge, a nearly 1,400% jump in an hour, was triggered by a fake post on X impersonating Jonathan’s veterinarian. While the token’s price has since corrected, the incident highlights the volatility of memecoins and their susceptibility to social media manipulation. The hoax was quickly debunked by officials, confirming Jonathan is “alive and well.” This event is part of a broader trend of memecoin launches exploiting social media frenzies, but $JONATHAN is unique in that it was created months prior using a memecoin generator.
