Telegram Wallet Adds Perpetual Futures Trading With Lighter
Summary
Telegram Wallet, a third-party wallet within the Telegram app, has launched perpetual futures trading in partnership with Lighter, a decentralized exchange. This integration allows Telegram users to trade perpetual futures with up to 50x leverage on over 50 assets, including Bitcoin (BTC) and Toncoin (TON), as well as tokenized commodities and stocks. According to Andrew Rogozov, CEO of The Open Platform, this move aims to make perpetual trading more accessible to retail users. The launch extends a trend of perpetual futures moving into mainstream app environments, despite the inherent complexity and risk. Lighter’s CEO, Vladimir Novakovski, highlighted the speed and ease of trading, enabling users to transition from chat to market quickly. The perpetual futures market has seen significant growth, accounting for up to 90% of derivatives volumes on major exchanges in 2025, and this integration follows similar moves by other platforms like Blum.
