MiCA-licensed crypto asset manager Tesseract unveils compliance-minded yield vaults
Summary
Tesseract Investment Oy, an EU-regulated crypto-asset service provider holding a MiCA license, is launching Tesseract Dedicated Client Vaults, a new investment platform tailored for institutional and professional investors seeking compliance.
CEO James Harris explained that these vaults address client concerns about existing pooled yield options, which might be classified as collective investment schemes under MiCA, potentially making their tokens unlicensed securities. Each new vault is a distinct smart contract assigned to a single client, allowing them 100% ownership of their vault token supply and enabling segregated managed accounts as required by MiCA. Tesseract acts as a curator with permissions to invest based on mandates and whitelisted protocols set by the client.
The offering targets asset managers, custodians, and platforms needing regulatory assurance, positioning itself as a complement to the permissionless DeFi ecosystem. The vaults are built on IPOR Fusion's Plasma Vault architecture using the ERC-4626 standard, offering features like per-vault isolation and deterministic risk enforcement. Tesseract piloted the vaults with participants including 21Shares.
