Midas raises $50 million Series A, launches liquidity layer for tokenized assets
Summary
Tokenization protocol Midas announced it has raised a $50 million Series A round, led by RRE and Creandum, with participation from numerous investors including Coinbase Ventures and Franklin Templeton. Concurrently, Midas launched Midas Staked Liquidity (MSL), a new facility designed to offer instant redemptions for tokenized assets across DeFi and CeFi platforms, initially with up to $40 million in capacity.
MSL aims to settle redemptions without counterparty or settlement risk, allowing liquidity providers to compete for execution, which structurally lowers the cost of capital. Midas envisions MSL transforming various instruments like ETFs and stocks into tokenized assets with built-in instant liquidity. The company also introduced the Midas Attestation Engine, which provides cryptographically verifiable proof of reserve and net asset value on-chain.
The protocol currently reports $500 million in total value locked and has distributed over $37 million in yield to 20,000 mToken holders. Midas mTokens are already integrated into protocols like Curve and Pendle, with future plans including integrations with Ledger Wallet and new strategies involving reinsurance and asset receivables.
