The Ethereum Foundation recently staked about 20,470 ETH, valued at roughly $42 million, into the Beacon Chain. This action is part of a broader, ongoing strategy announced in February to stake 70,000 ETH from its treasury to generate yield for funding operations, research, ecosystem development, and grants.
The newly staked ETH is expected to yield approximately 2.7%, which is lower than the 3.4% yield seen earlier in the year. Data indicates the transfers were made in uniform chunks of about 2,047 ETH. Following this deposit, the Ethereum Foundation still holds around 147,400 ETH, equivalent to approximately $303 million, in its treasury.
