Ethereum news (ETH): new project aims to fix network fragmentation and improve user experience

A new initiative called the "Ethereum Economic Zone" (EEZ), developed by Gnosis, Zisk, and the Ethereum Foundation, was announced at EthCC to combat the growing fragmentation within the Ethereum ecosystem. The core problem is that Ethereum's many Layer 2 (L2) networks often operate in isolation, forcing users to rely on slow, costly, and risky bridges to move assets, while developers must duplicate tools across chains. The EEZ framework aims to make these L2s feel like a single, unified system, allowing instant interaction and transaction flow across different networks without needing bridges, all while maintaining Ethereum's core security. This effort directly addresses concerns raised by figures like Vitalik Buterin regarding persistent user experience issues caused by L2 reliance. The goal is to unify liquidity, infrastructure, and user flows, ensuring ETH remains the primary token for fees.
