Startale Group has successfully closed its $63 million Series A funding round, which included a $50 million second close from SBI Group and a previously announced $13 million first close from Sony Innovation Fund. This funding builds upon existing partnerships; the collaboration with SBI Group has already yielded Strium, a Layer 1 blockchain for tokenized securities and RWAs, and JPYSC, the first trust bank-backed Japanese yen stablecoin. Startale also works with Sony on the Ethereum Layer 2, Soneium. CEO Sota Watanabe stated the funding reflects strong partner conviction and will be used to accelerate the adoption of tokenized stocks and JPY stablecoins. The capital will also scale Strium, expand stablecoin adoption (JPYSC and USDSC), and upgrade the Startale App into a "SuperApp" for asset management and payments.
