The protocol is offering to allow the exploiter to keep 10% of the funds – roughly $2.5 million – if the remaining $22.5 million in ether (ETH) and USR tokens are returned. Resolv has provided a recovery address and warned of escalation measures, including working with exchanges and law enforcement, if the ultimatum is not met. The exploit occurred when the attacker minted unbacked USR tokens and swapped them for other stablecoins. Analysts attribute the breach to a privileged minting role lacking security controls. Resolv has begun enabling redemptions for allowlisted users who held USR prior to the incident.
