Binance Raises Critical Security Alarm for iPhone Users

Binance has issued a critical security alert regarding a vulnerability in Apple’s iOS operating system, affecting devices running versions 18.4 through 18.7. This flaw, dubbed “DarkSword” by Google Threat Intelligence Group, allows hackers to potentially drain cryptocurrency wallets without any user interaction, simply by visiting a compromised website. The exploit chain utilizes malicious payloads like “GhostBlade” to steal seed phrases, wallet files, and credentials from popular mobile wallet platforms. While Apple has released a patch in iOS 18.7.3, Binance urges users to update their devices immediately, avoid suspicious links, and enable two-factor authentication and withdrawal whitelists to protect their assets. The attacks have been observed targeting users in Saudi Arabia, Turkey, Malaysia, and Ukraine, and are suspected to be carried out by state-sponsored actors and commercial surveillance vendors.
