Sam Bankman Fried's past political cash gives AI PAC fuel for going after NY state lawmaker Bores

Think Big PAC, an organization supporting pro-technology and AI innovation policies, is targeting New York's 12th Congressional District Democratic primary candidate Alex Bores by highlighting a $100,000 donation he received from Sam Bankman-Fried's political network. The PAC's mailer alleges that Bankman-Fried's associates are funding Bores' campaign, positioning him as out of touch with constituents, despite Bores recently introducing state legislation focused on AI safety and accountability. Bores, a first-term assemblymember, is competing in a crowded primary against figures like Jack Schlossberg and George Conway to succeed Rep. Jerry Nadler. Think Big PAC claims Bores is ignoring the connection to the disgraced FTX CEO, whose executives were major political donors in the 2022 cycle. This is not the first attack by the PAC, which previously spent heavily on ads criticizing Bores' past work at Palantir, prompting a cease-and-desist letter from Bores' campaign.
