Former Binance CEO CZ waves off accusations on Iran, terror ties

Changpeng Zhao (CZ), the founder of Binance, publicly refuted allegations that the exchange was involved in transactions supporting terrorism, particularly concerning Iran. He stated he has “zero interest” in such activities, especially given his residency in a country targeted by Iran. CZ highlighted the dismissal of related civil lawsuits and argued that such transactions wouldn’t benefit Binance financially. He also defended Binance against reports of firing compliance personnel who flagged suspicious transactions, stating the company found no direct evidence of transactions with Iranian entities. CZ further claimed he is being targeted with false accusations and is preparing to release a memoir detailing his experiences, including his time in prison and subsequent pardon.
