Crypto.com Enables Tourist Crypto Payments in Korea With KG Inicis Deal

Crypto.com has teamed up with KG Inicis, a major South Korean payment gateway with a 40% market share, to enable cryptocurrency payments for foreign visitors throughout South Korea. This integration allows international travelers to use digital assets at both physical and online merchants affiliated with KG Inicis's network, with merchants having the option to receive funds instantly in either fiat or digital assets. Eric Anziani, President and COO of Crypto.com, expressed pride in partnering with the "fintech powerhouse." Beyond payments, the two companies plan to explore deeper cooperation, including joint marketing and new product development, pending regulatory approval. This move aligns with a broader trend of countries exploring crypto payment options for tourists, following similar initiatives in places like Bhutan and Thailand.
