Prediction market platform Polymarket has taken action against users accused of threatening Times of Israel military correspondent Emanuel Fabian. The threats followed Fabian’s report on an Iranian ballistic missile strike near Beit Shemesh, Israel, which became a focal point for bettors who stood to lose money on Polymarket. These bettors allegedly engaged in a coordinated pressure campaign, demanding Fabian alter his reporting to ensure their winnings. The harassment escalated to direct threats via WhatsApp, with one individual, identifying as “Haim,” threatening Fabian and his family, citing potential losses of $900,000. Polymarket condemned the behavior, banned the involved accounts, and stated they would share information with authorities. Fabian has reported the threats to the police, who are currently investigating.
