Stanley Druckenmiller says stablecoins could power global payments in 10–15 years

Billionaire investor Stanley Druckenmiller stated that stablecoins could form the entire global payment system in 10 to 15 years, citing their efficiency, speed, and lower costs compared to traditional infrastructure. He views the use of blockchain and stablecoins as highly beneficial for productivity. While acknowledging the utility of stablecoins, Druckenmiller maintained his long-standing skepticism toward the broader cryptocurrency market, calling it a "solution looking for a problem." However, he conceded that Bitcoin has established itself as a store of value, despite his disappointment that it didn't serve another original purpose. Furthermore, Druckenmiller expressed concern over the U.S. dollar's long-term status as the global reserve currency, suggesting that in 50 years, it might be replaced, possibly by a crypto asset he currently dislikes.
