Wyoming’s Frontier Stable Token launches on Hedera
Summary
Wyoming’s Frontier Stable Token (FRNT), the first stable token issued by a US state, is now live on the Hedera network, bringing its total blockchain presence to eight, including Arbitrum, Ethereum, and Solana. FRNT, introduced last August, is a dollar-backed digital asset designed for efficient payments while ensuring transparency as a public-sector instrument. It is required to maintain 102% collateralization backed by short-term US Treasuries and cash. Hedera co-founder Mance Harmon emphasized that the platform's reliable infrastructure supports regulated industries in innovating digital payments with confidence. The token is available on the Kraken exchange, utilizes Fireblocks for operational infrastructure, and supports cross-chain transfers via LayerZero Labs. Furthermore, FRNT can be spent anywhere Visa is accepted through Apple Pay and Google Pay via Avalanche infrastructure and fintech integration from Rain.
