Winklevoss Twins Move $130 Million BTC to Gemini, Cutting Holdings 92% Since 2014

Cameron and Tyler Winklevoss transferred $130 million worth of Bitcoin (BTC) to hot wallets belonging to their exchange, Gemini, over the past week, a move flagged by Arkham Intelligence as likely preparation for a sale. These transfers represent the latest step in a significant, years-long reduction of their BTC position, which has shrunk from an estimated 108,000 BTC in 2014 to approximately 8,700 BTC currently, marking a reduction of over 92% of their initial holdings. Arkham estimates the twins still hold $764 million in BTC and have realized a cumulative profit of $1.8 billion. Such large movements by early holders liquidating positions can increase near-term sell-side pressure on BTC, which was trading around $71,057 at the time of reporting, and historically coincide with late-stage bull market cycles.
