Wirex launches Wirex Agents to enable AI-driven Stablecoin Cards and Autonomous Micropayments

Wirex, a major stablecoin card issuer, has introduced Wirex Agents, a non-custodial infrastructure layer designed to facilitate AI agents in creating stablecoin cards, opening virtual accounts, and executing autonomous financial transactions directly on-chain. This addresses the gap where AI workflows often halt at the payment step by enabling AI-driven transactions on stablecoin rails without requiring the agent to take custody of funds. Powered by Wirex BaaS, Wirex Agents provides AI systems access to stablecoin-powered Visa cards, virtual bank accounts, cross-border transfers, and cashback-as-a-service. The launch also includes the MCP server for direct interaction with payment rails and reusable Agent Skills for integration into agent toolchains like Claude Code. Wirex positions this as providing the necessary production-grade infrastructure for the emerging agent economy, enabling stablecoins to function as usable, machine-native money for real-world commerce.
