Decibel activates mainnet perpetuals trading on Aptos with $50M in pre-deposits
Summary
Decibel, an institutional-grade perpetuals exchange built by Aptos Labs, has officially launched mainnet trading on the Aptos blockchain, enabling fully on-chain derivatives trading where order matching, settlement, and risk management occur directly on-chain. Before launch, the platform garnered significant interest, securing over $50 million in pre-deposits and attracting more than 700,000 unique accounts during its public testnet, which saw over one million trades daily.
The exchange utilizes a new dollar-denominated stablecoin, usDCBL, issued via Stripe-acquired Bridge, as the primary collateral for perpetual contracts; this stablecoin is backed by cash and short-term U.S. Treasury bills, with generated yield retained internally. Decibel features a central limit order book and a risk engine designed by Gauntlet, supporting cross-network access through X-Chain Accounts for users onboarding from Aptos, Ethereum, Solana, and centralized platforms. The Decibel Foundation plans future expansions to include spot trading, unified accounts supporting diverse collateral, and tokenized real-world assets.
