Developed in partnership with Mastercard and Baanx, the MetaMask Card allows users to spend digital assets like USDC, USDT, and wETH directly from their self-custodial wallets wherever Mastercard is accepted. The goal is to seamlessly integrate crypto payments into daily commerce, making the onchain/offchain distinction fade. The card supports digital wallets like Apple Pay and Google Pay, offers onchain cashback rewards, and provides yield options on unspent balances via DeFi protocols. MetaMask is also offering a premium Metal Card for $199 annually.
