Travala launches global car rentals via CarTrawler, expanding crypto travel payments

Crypto travel platform Travala has integrated a global car rental service through a partnership with CarTrawler, significantly expanding its offerings across over 150 countries and 50,000 rental locations. This integration provides Travala users access to major suppliers like Hertz and Avis, allowing bookings to be completed using various cryptocurrencies, including Bitcoin and Ether, or traditional payment methods. Travala CEO Juan Otero called the launch a pivotal moment, furthering the company's goal of becoming a comprehensive platform for crypto-native travelers. Founded in 2017, Travala has expanded its services from hotels to flights and activities, achieving over $113 million in gross annual revenue in 2025.
