Holders sold over 25,000 BTC worth of bitcoin ETFs shares last quarter: analyst

Bloomberg ETF Analyst James Seyffart quantified the selling activity by 13F filers in Bitcoin ETFs during the fourth quarter of 2025, revealing they sold shares equivalent to approximately 25,098 BTC. This occurred while Bitcoin's price fell significantly from an all-time high of over $120,000 to below $85,000 during that quarter, continuing a decline that saw BTC trading around $64,000 recently. 13F filings are required quarterly from firms managing over $100 million in securities. Seyffart noted that Brevan Howard was the largest seller among these filers, offloading over 17,000 BTC worth of shares. This institutional selling follows a period where spot Bitcoin ETFs experienced five consecutive weeks of net outflows.
