White House reiterates Trump has no plans to pardon Sam Bankman-Fried despite FTX founder’s social media push

Despite Sam Bankman-Fried’s recent social media campaign on X, expressing support for Donald Trump and criticizing Democrats, the White House has reiterated that Trump has no plans to pardon him. Bankman-Fried, convicted of fraud and conspiracy related to the collapse of FTX, is currently serving a 25-year prison sentence and is appealing the conviction. While Trump has previously pardoned figures in the crypto industry like Changpeng Zhao, Bankman-Fried’s past support for the Biden campaign and the scale of his alleged fraud make a pardon unlikely. Trump previously stated he had no plans to pardon Bankman-Fried alongside Nicolás Maduro and Robert Menendez, though the White House did not rule out a future change of plans.
