Coinbase launches full stock trading access for US users

Coinbase has expanded its offerings by launching full stock trading access for all eligible users in the US, enabling them to buy and sell thousands of US stocks and ETFs within the same account as their crypto holdings. This service, facilitated through Coinbase Capital Markets, operates 24 hours a day, five days a week, with zero commission. Users can fund trades using USD or USDC and buy fractional shares starting at one dollar. A key feature of the launch is a partnership with Yahoo Finance, allowing users to seamlessly transition from researching assets on Yahoo to executing trades on Coinbase with a single click. Coinbase views this as a step toward its "Everything Exchange" vision, with future plans to expand 24/5 trading and explore tokenized stocks. Currently, stock trading is limited to US residents, supporting market and limit orders.
