Vitalik Buterin Pitches Transaction Simulation Security Idea

Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin suggested implementing "transaction simulations" and similar features to boost the security and user experience of Ethereum wallets and smart contracts. He argues that security and UX are intrinsically linked through user intent—ensuring protocols execute what users truly mean to do. This intent security approach involves systems double-checking user actions, such as showing a simulation of on-chain consequences before confirmation, or using spending limits and multisig approvals. Buterin noted that defining user intent is highly complex, preventing a "perfect security" solution. The best solutions, he suggests, require the user to specify their intention in multiple, overlapping ways, with the system only acting when these specifications align.
