Uniswap Founder Slams Scam Crypto Ads After Victim 'Lost Everything'

Hayden Adams, the founder of Uniswap, strongly condemned the continuous presence of fraudulent advertisements impersonating the decentralized exchange, particularly after a user reported losing their entire crypto holdings. Scammers are increasingly purchasing ads on search engines targeting keywords like "Uniswap," leading unsuspecting users to fake sites where connecting a wallet results in fund drainage. One victim, identified as "Ika," detailed losing a mid-six-figure crypto portfolio, describing the incident as the "final consequence of a long chain of bad decisions." This is not a new issue; Uniswap has previously dealt with lookalike websites designed to trick users. The warning comes as crypto stolen through scams and exploits reached $370.3 million in January, the highest monthly total in 11 months, largely due to one major social engineering scam.
