Société Générale expands euro stablecoin deployment to XRP Ledger
Summary
French multinational bank Société Générale, through its digital assets arm SG FORGE, has expanded the deployment of its euro-denominated stablecoin, EUR CoinVertible, to the XRP Ledger (XRPL). This integration follows previous launches on Ethereum and Solana, making XRPL the third network to host the token. EUR CoinVertible is fully backed by euro cash deposits or high-quality securities and complies with the EU's Markets in Crypto-Assets (MiCA) framework. With approximately €65.8M in circulation, it is the third-largest euro stablecoin by market value. SG FORGE stated this move reinforces its dedication to offering transparent, secure, and scalable compliant crypto assets. Both Ripple and SG FORGE executives highlighted the importance of this expansion for advancing next-generation compliant digital asset solutions.
