Tomasz Stanczak to step down as Ethereum Foundation co-executive director, Bastian Aue to take interim role

Tomasz Stanczak announced he will step down as co-executive director of the Ethereum Foundation at the end of February, less than a year after the foundation formalized its executive structure. Bastian Aue will take over the co-ED role alongside Hsiao-Wei Wang. Stanczak noted Ethereum is entering a new phase driven by AI integration and institutional finance, positioning it as crucial infrastructure for verification and on-chain finance. He highlighted progress in scaling, quantum strategy, and defining the 'agentic economy.' Leadership, including former executive director Aya Miyaguchi and Vitalik Buterin, praised Stanczak's contributions to efficiency and strategic clarity. Stanczak plans to remain active in the ecosystem as a builder focusing on agentic core development and governance.
