Although the physical USB drive was not stolen, the cryptocurrency was successfully siphoned off. The loss went undetected because the investigation had been suspended at the time. The Gyeonggi Bukbu Provincial Police Agency has initiated an internal probe to investigate the circumstances of the leak and potential internal involvement. This incident follows the recent, separate loss of 320 BTC by the Gwangju District Prosecutors' Office, where investigators reportedly lost their seized funds after accessing a phishing website.
