Cardano founder Charles Hoskinson says Midnight won't chase Monero, ZCash users

Cardano founder Charles Hoskinson clarified that the privacy-focused blockchain Midnight, set to launch its mainnet in March as a Cardano partner chain, is not aiming to convert users from established privacy coins like Monero or ZCash. Hoskinson explained that Midnight's focus is on the "billions of people that don't know they need privacy" by providing it by default, rather than targeting the existing demographic of privacy maximalists who actively seek out those specific coins. He suggested that while Monero and ZCash users are important, they represent a different demographic, and he characterized their approach to privacy as overly simplistic, comparing it to an on/off light switch, which he implied is not how real-world privacy functions.
