Stellar Expands Asia Push With TopNod Wallet Integration
Summary
The Stellar Development Foundation (SDF) announced at Consensus Hong Kong that the non-custodial wallet TopNod will integrate with the Stellar network as part of SDF's strategic push into the competitive Asian market.
Stellar CBO Raja Chakravorti identified the Asia Pacific region as a critical growth driver, with plans to build anchor networks in Indonesia, the Philippines, and Vietnam. SDF is also partnering with platforms like MarketNode and discussing tokenizing money market funds with financial institutions, despite XLM's price underperformance relative to its 2025 high.
Chakravorti noted that the focus is shifting from proving tokenization can be built at scale to achieving the right distribution outcomes for these assets. Stellar's recent X-Ray upgrade introduced native zero-knowledge cryptography, which Chakravorti framed as necessary for institutional compliance, offering configurable privacy that must remain auditable. The TopNod integration is expected to launch across several Asian markets, but the ultimate success hinges on achieving large-scale distribution.
