Arkham Intelligence said to be shutting trading platform as crypto bear market bites
Summary
Arkham Exchange, the cryptocurrency trading platform developed by data analytics firm Arkham Intelligence, is reportedly closing down, according to an insider. Arkham Intelligence, which was founded in 2020 and is backed by figures like OpenAI CEO Sam Altman, had initially planned to launch a crypto derivatives exchange in late 2024 to compete with major players like Binance. By early 2025, the platform added spot crypto trading in several U.S. states. However, trading volumes proved challenging; while Binance recorded nearly $9 billion in daily volume and Coinbase $2 billion, Arkham recorded just under $620,000 in the preceding 24 hours, despite launching a mobile app in December. Arkham also hosts its native token, ARKM.
