Crypto.com co-founder and CEO Kris Marszalek announced the purchase of the AI.com domain for approximately $70 million in cryptocurrency, potentially marking the largest domain name transaction ever. Marszalek, who will serve as CEO for both Crypto.com and the new AI.com platform, plans to launch a consumer AI service that allows users to create personal AI agents capable of sending messages, executing actions across apps, trading stocks, and building projects, with user data secured by individual keys. The official launch is scheduled following a Super Bowl commercial. This acquisition follows Marszalek's pattern of investing heavily in category-defining brands, similar to Crypto.com's rebranding from Monaco and major marketing spends.
