Bitcoin OG Garrett Jin withdraws 80,000 Ethereum from Binance

Prominent crypto trader Garrett Jin, known as Bitcoin OG “1011short,” withdrew 80,000 Ethereum, valued at approximately $168 million, from Binance on Thursday, according to on-chain data. This large withdrawal occurred during a broad market selloff where Bitcoin dropped below $71,000 and Ethereum fell under $2,100, causing the total crypto market cap to shed 6% to $2.4 trillion. The move suggests a renewed interest in buying Ethereum, contrasting with a recent large deposit of ETH into Binance by Jin in late 2025, as large transfers to exchanges are typically viewed as potential selling signals. Jin is famous for a profitable $735 million Bitcoin short trade executed just before a major market crash in October 2025. Despite the recent ETH withdrawal, his wallet still holds over 30,600 BTC, valued at more than $2 billion.
