Ripple integrates Hyperliquid to expand institutional DeFi access
Summary
Ripple announced that its institutional platform, Ripple Prime, has integrated Hyperliquid, a leading decentralized derivatives protocol, marking the platform's first DeFi expansion since its creation following the acquisition of Hidden Road. This integration allows institutional clients to access onchain derivatives liquidity via Hyperliquid and cross-margin their DeFi exposures with other asset classes supported by Ripple Prime, such as digital assets, FX, and fixed income. Michael Higgins, International CEO of Ripple Prime, stated that this move merges decentralized finance with traditional prime brokerage services, enhancing client access to liquidity, efficiency, and innovation. Clients benefit from a single counterparty relationship with centralized risk management and consolidated margin across their portfolios. Hyperliquid currently offers perpetual futures for XRP, BTC, and ETH, with ongoing development expanding its offerings.
