Ripple announced it has secured final authorization for an Electronic Money Institution (EMI) license from Luxembourg's financial regulator, the Commission de Surveillance du Secteur Financier (CSSF), upgrading its previous "in-principle" approval. This final authorization allows Ripple to scale its regulated payments services, specifically the "Ripple Payments" product, across the European Union. Cassie Craddock, Managing Director for UK & Europe at Ripple, stated that Europe is a strategic priority and the license enables them to offer compliant blockchain infrastructure to EU clients. This regulatory achievement follows Ripple recently obtaining an EMI license and cryptoasset registration from the U.K.'s Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) and contributes to the company's growing portfolio of over 75 global licenses.
