Bitget Wallet Shifts Toward an Everyday Finance App

Bitget Wallet has strategically rebranded as an all-in-one everyday finance application, updating its interface to center around payments to support increased real-world financial activity among its over 90 million global users. This shift reflects the broader trend of crypto wallets evolving from investment tools into daily financial accounts capable of spending, sending, and saving, challenging traditional banking apps with faster settlement and borderless access.

The update introduces a utility-first approach, highlighted by a new 'Pay hub' that unifies crypto cards, QR payments, bank transfers, and in-app shopping into a single flow, making it one of the few self-custodial platforms to support major crypto payment methods centrally. The interface also features new elements like 'Dynamic Panel' for live transaction updates and 'Today's View' for quick access to recent activity, all designed to streamline onchain interactions.

Jamie Elkaleh, CMO of Bitget Wallet, stated that the goal is to make onchain finance intuitive for saving, sending, and spending globally in real time, effectively turning the wallet into a daily crypto account that mirrors modern banking but operates on-chain. This strategic move is supported by internal data showing significant growth in stablecoin spending and yield subscriptions, indicating a new phase of adoption driven by real-world utility.
