Ripple debuts treasury platform combining cash and digital asset management
Summary
Ripple has introduced Ripple Treasury, a new corporate treasury platform resulting from its acquisition of GTreasury. This platform merges GTreasury's enterprise software with Ripple's blockchain infrastructure to combine traditional cash management with digital asset operations in a unified system. The goal is to streamline functions like cross-border payments, liquidity management, and asset reconciliation, addressing issues like slow settlement times and fragmented systems. Specifically, Ripple Treasury facilitates cross-border settlements in three to five seconds using the RLUSD stablecoin, significantly faster than traditional cycles. It offers a single interface for managing both fiat and digital assets via API integrations, treating digital platforms as "digital banks." Furthermore, the platform is expected to allow customers to access short-term liquidity and repo markets through Hidden Road, which Ripple acquired last year. This launch coincides with Ripple's ongoing global regulatory expansion, including recent approvals in the UK and Luxembourg.
