Russia Quietly Blocks Several Crypto Media Sites

Users across Russia reported disruptions accessing several crypto news outlets, which diagnostics confirmed were due to network-level interference rather than server outages. Testing by the Outset PR analyst team indicated that access to several international crypto media outlets, including CoinGeek and Cointelegraph, was restricted at the network level, potentially affecting up to one in four such publications. The technical checks strongly suggest the restrictions rely on Deep Packet Inspection (DPI)-based filtering, as enabling a DPI circumvention tool restored access. Furthermore, the affected domains were not listed in Roskomnadzor's public blacklist, suggesting enforcement occurred outside standard public takedown procedures, aligning with a distributed model where Internet Service Providers apply restrictions unevenly across different regions and networks.
