American Innovation Project launches fellowship to bring crypto expertise to Capitol Hill

The American Innovation Project (AIP), a nonprofit funded by Coinbase and a16z, is launching a new fellowship program designed to embed recent college graduates with expertise in emerging technologies, particularly cryptocurrency, within congressional offices. AIP's Executive Director, Allie Page, stated this is critical as policymakers make decisions that will shape America's technological leadership. The program targets recent graduates or those graduating in Spring 2026, offering a multi-week virtual curriculum followed by year-long placements in offices on the House Financial Services and Agriculture Committees. This initiative comes as Congress accelerates efforts to pass legislation dividing regulatory oversight of the crypto industry between the CFTC and the SEC. AIP, launched in August, aims to educate U.S. policymakers on rapidly evolving technologies like crypto and AI, backed by several crypto entities including Kraken, Paradigm, and DCG.
